Born as an orphan, he grew up with no name. The people in his village called him Sournois Blanc because of his the way he looks (expressionless and doubtful/untrustworthy). Because of this, he took upon the nickname Blank although he doesn't like it and practiced forcing a smile so he could make others think he actually has expressions.
Only at the age of thirteen, he is already bored in life and yearns to find more things in life.

Personality wise...there isn't much of one to Blanc. He does have emotions; it's just that he's the type that's hard to get a reaction from.
